“I strongly believe that art is our best tool for learning about ourselves, and having a deeper understanding, compassion, and empathy for the people of the world.”
Hailing from Northern California by way of Los Angeles, Nathaniel joined Poly Prep in 2022. He got his B.A. in acting at UCLA and started work in film, television, and theater while kicking off his education career at a summer camp on the beaches of Santa Monica. Soon he started a LEGO Robotics After School class with a colleague from summer camp, and their class ran in several schools in the LA area, finally expanding to New York in 2019. After teaching robotics at schools like Léman Manhattan, Friends Seminary, and Little Red School House, he joined the Little Red team as a sub and in after school in 2020. His passion is theater, music, and all kinds of performance- and imagination-based learning and play and has worked with kids Pre-K – Grade 8. Besides teaching, Nathaniel loves playing drums — he’s toured the country and recorded albums with rock bands on both coasts — and writing and producing plays and film.
